Our SECOND Grand Opening is for all of our other clients….current and potential ones! It will take place on Saturday, February 20th from 3-7 p.m. Lots of fun stuff will be given away and there will be special savings offered on sessions and packages! We’re thrilled to show you our new place!
Hey, 2011 Seniors…We’re having a party for YOU! You’re juniors now, but we figured it was okay to celebrate being a SENIOR a little bit early!
Come to the Grand Opening of our new studio on Tuesday, January 26th from 6-9 p.m. We’ll be giving away prizes (some cooler than others), including an iPOD Touch, a stuffed Papa Smurf and j. selander photography print credits towards YOUR senior pictures!

We have many reasons why we’ve decided to give our studio/storefront a try…..one of them being the handsome young lad below.
“Why?” you ask…… Well, let’s just start with while I am typing this, he got into a client’s photos….they are up HIGH on our shelf, but that doesn’t stop an excellent climbing toddler. (DJ….look forward to some extra wallets!)
At our *new* studio, it is my hope that your prints will remain untouched by my adorable son’s fingerprints….that your ordering session will be free of FLYING coffee grounds (although it did make the house smell deliciously)….that you will not witness half-clothed children running through your consultation…..that you won’t get snotted by one of my children when picking up your prints…..that you won’t sneeze due to your allergies to our kitty….that you won’t have to wait while I change a stinky diaper or wipe a child that is hollering from the bathroom….. 
Although, as I type this, it makes me realize how blessed we’ve been to be building a business and raising a family at the same time.
I won’t promise, however, that my kids won’t make appearances at some point during our relationship. I am first and foremost a wife and mother. We’re kind of a package deal.

- Find the photo that: a) strikes you as the most artistic/creative/technically amazing b) is of your best friend c) someone on **Facebook told you to vote for and then VOTE.
- You can only vote one time per computer/network, so choose wisely. This also means that people who work at the same office may not get their votes counted…only one IP address per vote.
- Check back on January 8th at midnight to see who will claim the crown of “Senior of the Year” and walk away with 75 Graduation/Open House Announcements and a ***baby African Crested Porcupine.

I know I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating….I am blessed.
The road to having our four gorgeous children wasn’t without a few bumps (okay, it was really bumpy), but God knew what He was doing. Look at those cute, little faces!…I couldn’t imagine my life without them!

So…some of you noticed a few changes to the blog. It was updated out of necessity! I couldn’t upload photos to our blog anymore, which…well, is kind of important for a photo business.
Next step…update our websites. There’s never a dull moment being in the photography business!
Our studio on 229 Bennett Avenue is coming along! We have a sign up….go check it out! We have drywall up (Thanks to Steinhoff Construction!) and one of the walls painted. I want to have a big ol’ party/grand opening in there sometime in the month of January, so we’re going to work hard to get it ready!
Now on to the photos! (yay! for being able to post them!)
Our 2009 Senior Rep, Colette, wanted a few “snow” pictures. She was in luck!….we’ve had a little bit of snow.
…and an adorable couple who is recently engaged! We even get to shoot their wedding in October!

We’re baaaaaccckkkkk! Okay, okay….we’ve been back for a while. I kind of got out of the blogging groove though. 
Now that I’m here, I’ve got some exciting news to share (and NO…there are no more Selander babies to announce!).
We’re going to be opening up a studio/storefront in Council Bluffs! We hope to have it ready by the 1st of the year! And YES, I know I’m ending all of my sentences in exclamation points, but I’m excited! I’ll be posting pictures of the building soon, so watch for them!
Our business will not change though….we will still be on location, natural light photographers. The building will be used for consultations, ordering appointments, high school senior headshots and occasional natural light sessions in case of yucky weather.
2009 was our busiest, most fantastic-est business year to date. I know that 2010 is going to top it! To start of the year with a bang, we’re going to be offering some stellar specials that will be announced on Sunday the 13th. I know you are all on the edge of your seats, but you’re just going to have to wait! Come back on Sunday and if you love your friends, tell them to check in too….it will be sooo worth it.
